- How long have the doors of Free by the Sea been open?
We opened in 2011, Free by the Sea has professional staff with experience in rehabilitation, substance abuse, mental health and gambling treatment for over 50 years combined. - How is my privacy protected throughout the entire treatment process?
As required by law, our facility is compliant with HIPAA, the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act, in place since 1996. This guarantees your information will remain confidential before, during, and after treatment. - What certain specialized methods or treatments does the staff at Free by the Sea use?
Our team of clinicians specialize in co-occurring/dual diagnosis treatment. We are licensed to treat clients suffering from substance abuse, mental health disorders, and gambling. - Can food or drinks be brought to the facility by myself or a loved one?
We offer regularly scheduled meals and snacks for those seeking treatment. Snacks are available to our clients free of charge 24/7. - Is visitation from family and friends allowed?
Visitation time is every Sunday afternoon between 1:00 pm and 5:00 pm. If Sundays don’t work for you or your loved one, please speak with your counselor about scheduling another day or time. While family and friends are welcome, all visitors must be pre-approved by the client’s counselor. - What types of electronic devices are allowed at Free by the Sea?
Wi-Fi capable electronics are not allowed and should be left at home. Music devices, such as MP3 players and iPods, are allowed as long as they can’t connect to the internet. Cell phones, tablets, and laptops are not permitted during an individual’s stay. If internet is needed, we will provide access with permission from the client’s counselor. - Does a diagnosis or referral need to be obtained prior to participating in programs or admittance to Free by the Sea?
A referral or diagnosis prior to admissions is not required or necessary. If you have had a recent chemical dependency evaluation or psychiatric evaluation, this would be helpful information for our treatment team to have. - What forms of payment methods are accepted at Free by the Sea?
Prior to admitting, we will discuss insurance the client has and your different financial options. We accept most private health insurance coverage and private pays. - What type of support is offered once treatment is completed at Free by the Sea?
A personalized discharge plan is developed before clients leave treatment. After completion, we follow up with our clients at regular intervals to provide support during their first year in recovery. We host an annual event each fall that celebrates the recovery of all our Alumni. Our ultimate goal is to support the individual both in and out of treatment for success in the long term.
